Please join us near Marshall, MO, on Friday, Oct. 31 and Saturday, November 1 for the 5th Annual Houston E. Mull Memorial FFA Scholarship Cattle Drive. The Cattle Drive is held each year in honor of Houston E. Mull, an active farmer and FFA member who was the victim of a vehicle accident in 2004 at the age of 15.

Since its inception four years ago, the event has provided over $33,750 in scholarships to local high school and college students interested in pursuing a career in agriculture. Generous donations from the community and agricultural enthusiasts from across the country have made this event a huge success and a wonderful memorial to a young man who dreamed of a future as a farmer.

Last year's event attracted more than 300 people for the cattle drive and 700 for the Saturday evening steak fry and auction.

Cook-Off on Friday night: Bring your best dish. Cash prizes will be awarded for 1st place winners in the three categories of meat, soups/stews and desserts. Dishes need to be checked in by 6:30 p.m. Dining start at approximately 7 p.m. after judging. If you are not bringing a dish, a freewill donation is requested.

Cattle Drive on Saturday: The festivities will kick off at daylight on Nov. 1 with an authentic chuck wagon breakfast prepared by cook Kenny Gordon at the Mull Farm. At 9 a.m., riders and wagons will head out to trail steers for 6 miles. A lunch of sandwiches, cookies, apples and drinks will be served on the trail. A steak dinner, prepared by the Saline County Cattlemen, will be served Saturday evening beginning at approximately 6 p.m. A benefit auction will follow dinner.

Bring your horse and join us for the cattle drive or just come for evening dinner and benefit auction. Wagons should be available for riders without horses. If you have a wagon that you would like to bring or could bring, please contact us.

Cost for the day is $30 or $140/immediate family of 5. Click here for registration information.

Donations of items for the auction welcome. Please contact the Mulls for more information.
